There was a welcome reception on Thursday night & I was afraid to go down by myself. I felt like I was the new girl walking into middle school! Luckily I spotted some ladies that I had met just a few weeks before at a pre Haven luncheon. I didn't get much of a chance to talk to these ladies at the luncheon but they were at least friendly faces! I think by the end of the night we were all friends!
I didn't get a picture of everyone but this is part of the Atlanta bloggers group.
There were several big bloggers just walking around & hanging out like they were regular people but I didn't have the guts to walk up to them! I did spot Debbie from Refresh Restyle & we have had some online contact so I had something I could talk to her about. She was just as nice in person as she seems to be on her blog!
I did manage to ask Katie to pose for a photo. That's only because she & Sherry stopped to talk to our group for a few minutes. I literally stood there with my phone in my hand for 10 minutes before I got up the nerve to ask for a picture! She & Sherry are so down to earth! Seriously so much fun! If you ever get the chance to meet them, you should, they will make you laugh!
This was the view from my room, you can see downtown Atlanta through the early morning haze. Even though I had a great time on Thursday night, Friday morning was almost like middle school again. I realized I would once again be walking into a room alone only this time it was worse because I had to sit down & eat! Remember that feeling of desperately looking for a friend so you wouldn't have to look like a looser eating by yourself? Yep, that was my worry! Turns out it wasn't a big deal, I sat at a table with 3 ladies & figured I could make some type of conversation. As I looked up I realized I actually knew all 3 of them! Whew! Hope the rest of my time at Haven is this easy!
After breakfast there was time to talk to some of the sponsors before opening session. The sponsors were so awesome that I had to run back to my room & drop off some of the swag!
Ana White started us off with a great motivational speech. I wish I would have recorded it!
I took several great classes over the 2 days. In some I learned new things to apply to my blog & some were just lots of fun! I am glad I chose the classes I did but wish we had just one more day to squeeze in a few more. It was so hard to choose!
Did I mention there were cupcakes?!
This was my swag bag. We received so many more great products from the sponsors that I will be blogging about in the next few weeks as I use them.
I am so glad I went to Haven this year, I laughed, I cried, I had an absolute blast! I didn't meet as many of the "big bloggers" as I wanted because I was too chicken to approach them but that was just me. I think they would have been open to meeting everyone. That is my goal for next year! I am going to meet Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick (we have the same rug after all) and Miss Mustard Seed & anyone else I run across. I am going to step out of my comfort zone & say "hi". I hope you will be there, too!
(By the way, those of you who are in my pictures, I used the skinny tool in Picmonkey. You are welcome.)
