My Favorite New Paint Technique-Vermont Slate Wash

I had this great fabric that my daughter & I picked out.  We had no idea what to do with it but it was so cool we bought a yard.  About the same time I discovered how beautiful Vermont Slate is when you use it as a wash.  I painted both of these frames with Pittsburgh Gray & then brushed on Vermont Slate wash.  I wiped back the wash with a rag, harder in some areas to reveal the original color underneath.  The big frame is a bulletin board & the smaller with the chicken wire makes a great message board or jewelry holder!

See how cool this looks up close?

Love the details!
