I've been a bad blogger! I totally forgot to take before pictures of this chest. It is one of my favorite styles. It was in bad shape! I really wanted to stain the top but there was paper stuck to it & large chips out of the top. So I had no other choice but to paint it. It was missing one of the pulls so I filled the top holes & added beautiful fleur de lis knobs. I left the original hardware as is with a little bit of cleaning. I painted the main part of the chest in Old White chalk paint & the drawers are Paris Grey with a little Old White mixed in. I used a clear wax after a little distressing. Beware- picture overload!

Another chalk paint project. I used Provence again but what a totally different look from my last piece! Here is the before. Oops, I already stripped the top!
I have a twin bed I will be finishing to match.
What do you think of the fabric in the background? My daughter picked it out for her new
playroom hangout. (Who knew at 10 you are too old to have a playroom?) Anyway, I really like the funkiness of the fabric! I will be finishing a dresser in this same color for her new room.

I came across Faded Charm website & knew I had to share my horse head for White Wednesday. I saw this head at HobLob a few months ago & had to have it. Only problem was it was $89!!!! I just waited a few weeks until it went 50% off but then I had to go to 2 stores to find it. It seems each store only received 2! What!? A cool horse head & they only got 2! Well anyway, I was glad I got mine. I knew I had to paint it, not that it didn't look good before but I just wanted to make it mine.
I painted it white & then added a little glaze & I LUV it!

I picked up this little chest on Thursday & just couldn't wait to paint it. My new chalk paint arrived on Wednesday & it was perfect for this piece. This poor little chest was so dirty & neglected, it really needed some love. It had Brian's name scratched on top (I wonder if he got in trouble for that) and it was sooo dirty! I had to clean it 3 times with TSP!! I stripped the top & stained it dark walnut. I dry brushed 2 layers of Provence chalk paint. After distressing, I used dark wax. I am so loving this little guy! I plan on using it at a craft fair in August to display baby afghans my mom is making. After that it will be looking for a new home (maybe it will find one at the fair).
