I Love this Buffet!

I saw this buffet on Craig's list for a steal & figured it would be gone before I could get to it.  Luckily it was right around the corner & I was the 1st person!  Yea!!  We rushed over to look at it & I knew I had to have it, I could already see it wanted to be white with oil rubbed bronze pulls.  I had to have it!  Problem is we don't have a truck.  It was literally 5 miles from my house!  I asked the lady if she would hold it while we went to Home Depot to rent their van (this is how I get all of my furniture home).  She agreed & off to Home Depot we went only to find the van had been rented for several days & they could not get in touch with the person who had it.  Great!  How am I going to get this buffet (that I have to have) home?  Well, my neighbor has a truck so we call but they are out of town, returning later in the day.  So I call this nice lady & tell her the situation.  I can honestly say if someone had done the same to me I am not sure I would have been able to hold it, the story just doesn't sound believable & you know what flakes those CL buyers are!  We agreed that I would call her in the morning to let her know if I could pick it up or she would go to the next person on her long list.  Luckily we were able to borrow the neighbors truck (after they had to jump start it & we couldn't turn it off!) and bring it home.  I guess it was meant to be!

I painted it with Annie Sloan's Pure white, I had been waiting for this color!  I was so excited to paint this piece that I got it completely finished in a day!  Only problem was I liked this one much better than the buffet I finished for myself last year!  I really wanted to keep it but I needed some furniture for my antiques booth.  I am so glad this one is there but I really like to have it in my home, too!

  1. Most Beautiful! I love distressed white furniture. The hardware really makes it stand out. So classy. I think you are right about it being meant to be. It certainly sounds like it was quite the challenge to bring this girl home. Hope you don't have to go through that kind of circus anymore.

  20. I love the pieces you've painted with the Annie Sloan paints. I've been using them for awhile in my decorative painting business. In fact, I like them so much that I've become the distributor for Alpharetta, Roswell and Cumming. Call me if you need any paint! Mary Anne 770-366-5990
