Provence Bedroom

It all started with the bed(that I don't have a before picture of).  I loved the 4 post bed & it was exactly what I had been looking for the year before for my daughter's room.   Of course finding 2 that match is nearly impossible!  Trust me, I looked for months & months!  I picked up the nightstand with the dresser that ended up in my daughter's hang out.  Then I scoured CL until I found another piece that would match.  I don't know why I thought it would sell better if I had matching pieces.  It turns out that the bed sold & the other 2 pieces are still looking for a good home.  I painted everything Provence & stained the tops in a dark walnut.  I just love the look of the Provence with the dark top!  I was able to keep the original hardware for both pieces, they just needed to be cleaned.

I already stripped the top.  I'm not very good at getting before pictures, I tend to jump in with both feet & then remember the pictures!

I Love this Buffet!

I saw this buffet on Craig's list for a steal & figured it would be gone before I could get to it.  Luckily it was right around the corner & I was the 1st person!  Yea!!  We rushed over to look at it & I knew I had to have it, I could already see it wanted to be white with oil rubbed bronze pulls.  I had to have it!  Problem is we don't have a truck.  It was literally 5 miles from my house!  I asked the lady if she would hold it while we went to Home Depot to rent their van (this is how I get all of my furniture home).  She agreed & off to Home Depot we went only to find the van had been rented for several days & they could not get in touch with the person who had it.  Great!  How am I going to get this buffet (that I have to have) home?  Well, my neighbor has a truck so we call but they are out of town, returning later in the day.  So I call this nice lady & tell her the situation.  I can honestly say if someone had done the same to me I am not sure I would have been able to hold it, the story just doesn't sound believable & you know what flakes those CL buyers are!  We agreed that I would call her in the morning to let her know if I could pick it up or she would go to the next person on her long list.  Luckily we were able to borrow the neighbors truck (after they had to jump start it & we couldn't turn it off!) and bring it home.  I guess it was meant to be!

I painted it with Annie Sloan's Pure white, I had been waiting for this color!  I was so excited to paint this piece that I got it completely finished in a day!  Only problem was I liked this one much better than the buffet I finished for myself last year!  I really wanted to keep it but I needed some furniture for my antiques booth.  I am so glad this one is there but I really like to have it in my home, too!

Sneak Peak-Open House

Tomorrow we are having an Open House at my booth at City Antiques in Roswell. Here are a few pictures of what we did to my booth today:

A few of the ornaments I made:

It seems a little weird decorating for Christmas the 1st week of November but I realize that is how it works in the retail world.  Hopefully I don't get tired of it before it is time to decorate my house!
Open House is tomorrow from 1:30-3:30, would love for you to stop by if you are in the area!
