Provence Chalk Paint

I picked up this little chest on Thursday & just couldn't wait to paint it.  My new chalk paint arrived on Wednesday & it was perfect for this piece.  This poor little chest was so dirty & neglected, it really needed some love.  It had Brian's name scratched on top (I wonder if he got in trouble for that) and it was sooo dirty!  I had to clean it 3 times with TSP!!  I stripped the top & stained it dark walnut.  I dry brushed 2 layers of Provence chalk paint.  After distressing, I used dark wax.  I am so loving this little guy!  I plan on using it at a craft fair in August to display baby afghans my mom is making.  After that it will be looking for a new home (maybe it will find one at the fair).

  8. Crystal-dry brushing is putting the paint on with a "dry" brush. Not coating the brush in paint but just putting a little on then wiping off as much as you can before putting it on the furniture. Hope that helps!
